This is a wonderful NP which really deserves an over night stop.
The highlights in the national park are the deserted remains of the resort buildings which were ruined by the Khmer Rouge when they came to power - the church, the casino and most dramatically the Bokor Hotel (pictured) perched on the hill overlooking the other buildings.
It is very easy to find guides in Kampot City to take you up the mountain - they will approach you.
Ask for Sa Rith at the market - he was a wonderful guide!

Staying the night in Bokor National Park will allow you to explore the ruins by flashlight - straight out of a horror movie. Watch out for jokers in your party who will no doubt take the opportunity to sneak off and try to scare you witless!
We spent a long time wandering from room to room, at night, with our torches switched off. In hindsight this was probably really stupid, as there are plenty of places where we could have had an accident. On the other hand the "scare factor" was unbelievable.
Think you've seen a scarey movie recently?
You don't know what scared is.........
