Village Festival
On one of our roadtrips in search of schools to give the childrenbooks to, we drove through a village called Kachon. All the people of the village seemed to be gathered on a large open area somewhere in the center. It was clear that there was some sort of festival going on.My partner decided to look for the schoolprincipal or a teacher, I decided to take seat next to a few women who were sitting on a dead tree. I smiled at the women, and it immediatly seemed to break the ice (if there was ever any). They all came towards me and surrounded me, asking me all kinds of questions I didn't understand. In my little learned khmer I asked a few questions back, and tried to understand what they were saying. Many of them seemed to be drunk, but they all seemed to have fun and get along with each other.The festival had a lot of music, traditional dance and ricewine from barrel. It was great to have...
