    Face of the Bayon

Luggage and bags: All I brought is a small backpack but I'm a light traveler.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Light Clothes...It can be very hot especially in March when I was there!!

Photo Equipment: If you are passing through Bangkok it will be cheaper to stock up on film there as the prices are cheaper and you can find any kind of film you want. But if you make the mistake I did and not buy enough there are print film and slide films available in Siem Reap and also from the many freelance vendors wandering around. Feel free to bargain even in the shops in Siem Reap. I did and the price came down to realistic(almost Bangkok prices). If your shooting digital make sure you have enough memory! The Bayon with make you want to shoot more photos than you think!! So many angles and faces to see.

    Daypack & notebook

Luggage and bags: Please bring along a simple daypack to carry your essentials. It’s especially useful when you need both of your hands while exploring ruins & mountain temples.

Good for carrying drinking water, cameras, rain jacket & etc.

Miscellaneous: Bring a small little notebook to record your observations & your mood while you're exploring ruins.

    Sun Block

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sun Block with low SPF (15-30) can be quite important to prevent severe burn. Especially during dry season.

Get one from your nearest pharmacy outlet.
Sport Block can be ideal since they are non-greasy & water-resistant.

    Guide book

Miscellaneous: Even though I bought a copy of Lonely Planet with me, it wasn't all that good with pictures or detail. I was browsing a copy of book shops in Siem Reap, at the old market and found many books on Angkor that are sold as counterfeit (copies). I decided to by one called The Treasures of Angkor by Marilia Albanese for just a few dollars and it really goes into a lot of detail on each temple site with lots of glossy colour photos and plans.
