Preah Khan was more than just a monastery--it was an entire city enclosing a town of 56 hectares, built in the 12th century it held around 15,000 monks, teachers and students. This is the eastern entrance to the main temple.
It gorgeous and too much to see and its under the presevation of World Monument Fund.

Preah Khan is being hacked back out of the jungle as part of a consevation project, but, as you can see, the jungle is not giving up without a fight.
