El Linga y el Yoni están presentes en la mayor parte de los templos , no sólo en Angkor sino también en en todos aquellos de tradición Hindú , por este motivo vamos a tratar de definirlos :Linga : Representación simbólica de Shiva , en la forma de un falo , a menudo estilizado ; está compuesto generalmente por tres secciones . la base cuadrada corresponde a Brahma , el creador , la sección octogonal del medio corresponde a Vishnu , el conservador , y la sección circular superior , corresponde a Shiva ; acoplada con el Yoni , el conjunto simboliza las fuerzas masculinas y femeninas de Shiva Yoni : Simboliza la vulva femenina ; es una piedra cuadrada , siempre asociada al linga en su centro ( Shiva) ; en un lateral , un canal permite que fluya el líquido sagrado ( agua , leche o miel ) The Linga and the Yoni are present in most of the temples , not only in Angkor , but in all those of...

En cada rincón y esquina de Angkor puedes ver a las apsaras , que son :Ninfas celestiales o bailarinas representadas como figuras volátiles ; en Angkor , la estización es extrema y las apsaras se representan a menudo en grupos con sus mejores galas y sus joyas. Coincidiendo con la última luna de noviembre , la gente va al río a soltar sus " botes iluminados" y se supone que los sueltan en el río para deshacerse the todas las malas cosas que les han pasado y al mismo tiempo para que sus sueños puedan fluir río abajo.Es impresionante ver el río iluminado ,lleno de "barcas " hechas con bamboo , flores y velas encendidas con la luna llena al fondoWith the last full moon of November the people goes to the river to send their " lighted boats" and it is supposed that they send them to the river to get rid of all the bad things they have had and at the same time in order that they dreams can go down the river.It is impressive to see the river lighted full of "boats" made with bamboo, flowers and lighted candels with the full moon

Dollar Instead of Riel

In Siem Reap it seems that USD is the preferred currency over their local Riel. USD is widely accepted wherever you go, may it be restaurants, shops, grocery stores or even street vendors. You need not change your USD to Riel. As of March 2005 exchange rate is 1USD : 4000 Riel.When buying small items, expect to pay in USD and get your change in Riel. Keep your change as it would prove to be useful when going around town or visiting temples. There would be a lot of children following you with their wares for a few cents. Notice also that very few "new" Riel notes are being circulated. Most of the notes are torn and very old. If you'd like to keep one for souvenir, you'd be lucky to get hold of a new one.
