Angkor What?: Wacky Bar

by nsurati

The name of this place had intrigued us since the time we were leaving for our trip so Angkor What? was on our list since the very beginning. And our excitement paid off quite well!Angkor What? is a crazily done up place. Bright colours on the walls and patrons are given markers so the graffitti on the walls is generated by the patrons. The music is popular rock. Angkor What? is only a bar, but a very chilled out place. Take up a table overlooking the street and it can be a great people watching spot. The drinks are great and the staff friendly. No specific dress code

Name to come soon...: A great bar...

by samanthamcder

In Siem Reap, in a little Alley, there is a great bar run by a fun guy (ex-pat) named Martin. The mojitos rock...I'll post the name later (had to many mojitos to remember). However, it is located kiddie corner, across the way from John McDermott's Photography Gallery! We had some lively conversations... You need to wear clothes...

Bar Street: Pulse of Siem Reap

by neogary

''Bar Street'' in town is a nice place to chill and relax with a well deserved drink after a day of temples. There're enough Bars cum Restaurants to satisfy everyone's palate. Really nice to just sit and people watch, and you'll see familiar faces that you see in the temples. Casual

Anchor Bar: Bars Away From Pub Street

by 43beckos

We came across this bar by accident on Wat Bo Road. This laid back bar is owned by a guy called Ben, who is originally from Amsetrdam, moved to the states and now lives in Cambodia, so has a pretty mashed up accent. This is a great bar just to sit and chill in, and Ben mixes a mean Cambodian Whisky and 7UP Stop here for a drink on the way to BB kings for a Khmer BBQ ( Ben advised us to eat there and he was not wrong) Laid Back. Shorts and t shirts the order of the day

Zone One: Its Fun

by Johnny_Barang

Sick of hanging out with ill-mannered Aussies and bloated Scando-Krauts? Then get off the barang circuit and party with the locals at Zone One - the greatest club on Earth. No maddog looks, many beautiful women and its even gay friendly. Of course the music is bad, but its better than average Asian club music. Drinks are pricey for Cambodia, but the girls don't drink so you will save money on that end. They also have an outside chilling area, which is nice. If you are wearing shoes and a longsleave shirt, you are way overdressed.

Pub Street: Good food and drink

by ricardoz

Generally the nightlife in Siem Reap town is all in one location - which is in Pub Street. People from all walks of life, nationality congregate here for dinner. From families to single traveler like me. The food & drinks are reasonable, although you need to check around - from budget to reasonably expensive. There are some which offers free traditional shows in the restaurant, pls check the time schedule when you are there. Other type of activities you can do is to visit foot reflexology centre, a must after walking the temples whole day. Just relax...no dress code...anything goes in Siem Reap.

Pub Street: Happy hour and late nights rendezvous

by juliewong

Step onto Pub Street and you will find rows of cafes and pubs lined up side by side with a variety of cuisine offerings. After 5pm, this street starts kicking alive with bars giving out their "happy hour" deals to tourists where most of them will be back from the temples. The good thing about this place is that it is blocked to motorists during night time so that tourists could roam the street at ease. Basically, this is the centre of Siem Reap's nightlife with bars jamming music from all corners of the street and some open till the wee hours.

Pub and Bar street, siem reap town

by cplu

it's advantage to stay close to the town - I spent almost every night in the bar & restaurant street - there are so many restaurants (for sure there are solely for foreign tourist only)The food here are not bad, and the cheapest draft beer cost only USD 0.50 per glass.Go for Khmer food like 'Amok Chicken', or 'Amok fish', or Combodian BBQ. There are many other variety of foods e.g., Italian, French, Thai, Japanese, Indian, etc.One restaurant offers tranditional dance as well.Recommendation :Khmer Kitchen Restaurant Le Tigre De Papier (I spent 3 dinners in this restaurant)Temple club (offer transtional dance)

Bayon II Restaurant: Traditional Dances

by fossettes

There are many places to take in a traditional dance performance. We went to the Bayon II Restaurant. The show was beautiful, the dancers very skilled. We didn't eat dinner there but went only for the show and some beers (we have grown tired of these types of buffets) The perofrmance was an hour long and very enjoyable. Casual

Dead Fish Tower: Cold Beer and Crocodiles

by bpacker

Now, way before I went to Siem Reap, Cambodia, I heard of a watering hole in town where it's possible to grab a cold beer and dally with crocodiles. Sounded like an adventure worthy of an alcoholic Lara Croft. So off I went to Dead Fish Tower, with Clubber Diva, hoping to chill out with crocs. Our expectations were fulfilled. Not only did the eclectic decor with open air platforms on multiple levels appealed to us, the crocs scared the bejesus out of us!Just take a look at the number of crocs I photographed in the basement pit. More than enough to fill the giant moat at Angkor Wat for sure.Somehow, the thought of flirting with those crocodiles waned with their smell and we left those crocs in their basement pit . We sat directly one floor above them and I enjoyed my cold beer as I watched a traditional apsara ( Cambodian ballet) dance. Better to wear pants in this place. All seats on the...
