Bakong was built to represent the mythical Mt Meru and has interesting terraces with elephant statues looking out from them.

The shrines at Preah Ko are dedicated to the Hindu king's parents, parents-in-law and roughly means "Sacred cows".

In fron of the shrines are 3 sitting cows facing the temples. 1 of the cow is somewhat destroyed.

It is a very samll temple and you can walk around it very quickly. Look out for the locals involved in the restoration works. The women balance a heap of bricks on their head with ease!
