Various: Cambodian Noodle

by muratkorman

When we were travelling from Land Mine Museum to Banteay Kdei, I saw some local shops and wanted to eat there. Our guide told us that they prepare Cambodian noodle which looks like Singaporean Laksa with some different herbs and spice. It was very delicious and so cheap. That was one of the lunches we enjoyed most in Siem Reap. Cambodian Noodle

Khmer Restaurant: Touristic menu

by muratkorman

I wasn't much impressed with this restaurant, but the service was friendly and fast. The touristic menu gave me the impression that this is the restaurant where tour guides bring their customers and get free food or some commission. We tried beef, saba fish and salad. The portions were not that much for beef and it wasn't good. However, the grilled saba fish was nice. We were there for lunch and in that hot noon time, Angkor beer was the best moment. Saba fish

Various: Hawkers in Town Center

by muratkorman

There are many street vendors in Siem Reap Town Center. Mainly they sell noodles and some other types of food. They are quite clean and the food is delicious. Compared to the restaurants, you pay almost nothing for the food. If you stay a few nights in Siem Reap, at least leave one dinner to these hawkers. Noodles

Koulen Restaurant: Nice show but average food

by muratkorman

Our guide Neang suggested us to watch the local dance show in this huge restaurant. We had the reservation earlier to get a good table to watch the dance show. It cost me 12 USD per person which is a huge price in Siem Reap. A great dance show with "Apsara Dancers" satisfied us. However, the buffet food was not interesting. I managed to eat some of the stuff they serve, but my wife only took some nibbles. Last note: Drinks are not included in the price. Nothing, but you should go there for the dance show.

Romduol Angkor: Great view

by Eggboy

There are a couple of simple open air Khmer restaurants opposite Sra Srang the (pool of Abultions) just east of Angkor Thom. The key here is the view across Sra Srang which is a large rectangular pool which looks very simliar to the Angkor Wat moat. The food is standard Khmer and well priced. Had a beef a a chicken stir fry. Tasty and substantioal but the beer, was not cold enough for me!

Silk Lounge: An undiscovered treat!

by FlashDuck

Off the main tourist drag of Siem Reab, this funky cocktail bar / restaurant is hidden from the road. Inside is a wonderland of inspired, innovative decor and a great vibe. Recently opened (June 2008), this truly is a family run place where brothers and cousins assist the most charming pair of English speaking sisters who also help with the cooking. A couple of western style and height tables and chairs are in the main space, which also has a few well upholstered divans piled with cushions, and an inserted glass plate for dining and drinking. More comfortable cushions are adjacent to an internal fish pond, with gauzy curtains strung up Bedouin tent style and the most wonderful organic light fittings, some, it seems, made from the varnished slices of some fruit or vegetable. After delighting in the decor, what about the food? Ah, the food. Admittedly, the menu is limited, but that...

Khmer Kitchen: Khmer food

by Eggboy

Good food at a good price. I took my temple guide here and shouted him a meal to say "thankyou". This is his favourite restaurant and I was happy with it too. We ate really well and had a few beers each for around $10. Soup and Spring rolls were good. The beer is cold and the staff are friendly

The Temple Bar: Restaurant with Apsara show, Siem Reap

by chizz

The Temple Bar is a nice place to have a drink or meal and watch the free Apsara show (7pm & 9pm - check seasonable times). The food is ok but the show is very good to say that it's free. Prices are very reasonable for food and drink, but our service was a bit slow! (we were in no rush, but were quite hungry!!). Pizza was ok.

The Red Piano: Good restaurant in Siem Reap

by chizz

The Red Piano is nice to visit for a meal or a drink, especially in the evening. Set on two open sided floors on "Pub Street", it offers good food at reasonable prices and friendly service. Offers a Vietnamese and international cuisine. Fish curry was good.

A nice place in the central restaurant/ bar area of Siem Reap which is spread over 3 open sided floors with a ground floor open space. Good value food which is very tasty. Staff are friendly and service is quite quick for Siem Reap! Good for people watching. Open 7am-10pm. No credit cards. Khmer Fish curry, vegetarian pizza
