Dead Fish Tower: A great experience

by Rob&Giz

The 3 floors are all open in the center, the food is transported to the upper floors via a manually operated lift. Next to the toilets is a crocodile pit with scary crocs. You can feed the crocs. if you feel so inclined.Entertainment: Aspara dance performances and live music. Mainly Cambodian/Thai dishes.

Koulen: Live Apsara and folk dances

by nsurati

Koulen was recommended by our driver in Siem Reap as a place to enjoy a dinner buffet along with a live apsara and folk dance. We thoroughly enjoyed the dances. The folk dances were full of life while the apsara dances were very graceful. Our driver got a free dinner there since he took us to this place. The food was decent and the ambience lively. The buffet did not have too many options for vegetarians so I stuck to good old noodles and rice pancakes but they were made very well. My non-vegetarian friend enjoyed his food a lot here. The dances were the most enjoyable part of the meal.

Le Bistrot de Paris: Le Bistrot de Paris-reasonable and delicious

by tedandtina

It is located near the old market and kind of hard to find, if the tuk tuk driver has problems finding it please ask him to call if he has a cell phone. Our driver had a cell phone and was able to locate it with the big Eiffel Tower Replica in front. The food menu is reasonable..green salads from 1.50 US$ to steak at around 9-10$ A variety of good choices on the menu and quite reasonable.Best part? The wine was very good. Our small pitcher of Le Mouton Cadet was served at a nice cool temperature and went well with our meal.Very child friendly and excellent service.... Salad and Steak. The sauces were good and salad was very fresh...

Hotel De la Paix: Ambience

by traveller0070

nice cool ambience. Great food. food price is not really that pricy which i think its worth with the location and value of the food. Hotel is too expensive for a night stay .. so enjoy the food instead:) I ordered steak and pasta with chicken. Yummy.

The Restaurant at Mandalay Inn: Home cooked Khmer and Burmese Food

by cochinjew

I usually stay at Mandalay Inn and have many things to discuss with Maung Maung. This time we spent hours discussing the plight of Bamar refugees in Thailand and thought of ways to help them. while we are busy talking and planning, a meal is prepared and i usually dont have a choice of the menu.. but usually it is very tasty and the staff members are very very friendly and accomodating Chicken curry with PotatoesBalachaung ( called blachan in Malaysia )

Amarapura: Brand new Burmese Restaurant

by cochinjew

On arrival at Siem Reap International, I was taken to the opening celebrations of Amarapura Rest. This restaurant, in a nice setting, is the effort of a lady from Burma who lives in USA.it was nice to see most of the burmese community there and also other people involved in tourism. Wine and beer flowed and also a nice buffet. It was good to see my burmese neice, Eithwe, who is also member of VT, who now lives and works in Siem Reap. a large selection of burmese food was on the offer at the buffet. this menu mainly would cater for tourists as does every other restaurant. it is slightly upscale and promises to be a good additonal to the culinary world at Siem Reap

Dead Fish Tower: Dead Fish Tower

by yukisanto

We actually went early for dinner since we didn't have lunch, so there weren't people there. The place is like a huge converted warehouse, very interesting setup. I guess it will be pretty popular at night, with the band set and everything. Food's normal, and really watered down to western taste. The tom yam soup I had was neither sour nor spicy at all. Hmm. Dish range from USD 4-6. So so.

Blue Pumpkin: Check out the lounge beds@Blue pumpkin

by yukisanto

Supposedly famous for their bread, but it didn't really appeal to us at all - slightly greasy. On the second floor, is where you can chill out and surf the net (if you've brought your laptop). Menu is mainly western and greens as well, and they have a great selection of fruit shakes and coffee related items. desert was not bad too. I had jungle jewel - basically mango and coconut ice-cream. prices range from USD4-6, but portions are small.

Red Piano: Not a bad place to chill

by yukisanto

Local and western food. Nice decor and not a bad place to chill out at night. Popular, so it's mostly packed each night. dishes cost USD 3-5 and drinks around the same price as well. The famous 'Tomb Raider' cocktail originated from here, but it's not really that great. Contrieu, lime and gin = mostly gin tonic taste?
