Angkor Wat International Half Marathon

by bpacker

Now, if you're a runner and dying for serious inspiration, go for the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon. The route is exotic and you'll cover the awe-inspring temples along the 21km route. A fellow Vter actually did the entire run ( with a camera! ) and captured the actual experience over here. Do read to get inspired.

Khmer massage and foot reflexology

by sachara

On my way from the hotel to the internetcafé at 200 meter I passed one of the places where you can go for a Khmer massge or foot reflexology. At the end of a long walking day I decide to go there at the end of the afternoon for the foot massage of one hour.I was surprised about the strength the women have in their rather tiny hands. No problem at all to handle my big feet and under legs. As dessert I got the last 15 minutes also a massage of my upperlegs, arms, back and shoulders. And all for 5 dollar.

Cockfighting

by Hewer

Cockfighting takes place every Sunday in and around Siem Reap. If you happen to be going past a village, you may see a group of men standing around a circular makeshift arena. It`s better to ask before you enter. You will most likely be welcomed and noone will mind you taking pictures.Whether or not cockfighting is cruel or bad is not for me to judge. It`s another part of Cambodian culture and something different to see.The first fights take place at 10am or thereabouts and run until 2pm.
