Krong Preah Seihanu Warnings Or Dangers

not such a peaceful holiday destination

by KDMH

My partner and I spent 4 nights here in early 2009, we should have left after one. If you are after relaxing, beautiful beaches with nice chilled out locals and respectful foreigners forget this sad little place.we moved hotel/beach shacks each night in an attempt to get away from the all night music/beach party of the tourist and local druggies, believe me beach views are only lovely during the day,it is one of those places where you witness all that is corrupt and vulgar about Western culture is displayed by these naturally generous and lovely people who are just trying to make a buck. yes food is cheap, and you can get happy pizzas/shakes/even straight up joints off the menu, but it is hard to enjoy good food when you have one beggar after another approaching you (the blind, the limbless -landmine injuries are so evident) and very small highly vulnerable children begging)we had been...

Single females be aware

by traceyspacey

As it was my turn to look for accomodation, I set off down the beach with my day bag ( in the opposite direction to Cloud 9). There are a group of older kids targeting single females walking on the beach. Day and night. They got my money out of my purse and scattered my cards etc on the beach and as a result I have lost cash, one credit card and my driving licence as well as some sentimental stuff. I retrieved the rest back. I have since been told that they have also robbed one of the younger kids selling bracelets on the beach. Most of the kids are good, but please be careful. I only took my bag as some guesthouses insist on a cash advance to secure the room and I didn't have my padlock on my bag. Stupid of me. A lesson to be learned.

sihanoukville city centre

by DJCage

The city centre holds some of the worst commercial sex venues to be found on the beaten path in Asia. The hookers are sad and unhealthy, the mongers are the types who won't even be accepted in Pattaya. View at your own risk, not for the faint hearted.

Don't be stupid.

Please, please don't leave your bag unattended whilst going for a swim. I have seen it happen. How stupid can you be?
