  • FCC (Foreign Correspondent Club)

    Phnom Penh Nightlife

The FCC is extremely popular with tourists and ex-pats alike, and although it has a great location with a fantastic rooftop bar offering great views, it wasn’t the place for us. The drinks were overpriced. The food was inauthentic. Although it wasn’t our kind of place I can see how it is a popular spot with a lot of tourists. Because that’s exactly...

Last Saturday night, it was just packed. Good music, good crowd and reasonably priced drinks. Went with a group of friends, and spent a bit of time in the quieter upstairs bar overlooking the dancefloor which is good for people watching, then back down into the western & local crowd. none

We only ventured out one night while in Phnom Penh, to meet a fellow traveler we had met on the Mekong Delta trip that brought us to the Cambodian capital. The Pink Elephant was an okay travelers’ pub with Western foods and drinks and though cheaper than back home, it’s not as cheap as the places locals go to. It’s also on the Riverfront and this...

  • Free khmer dance show in Siem Reap

There is a traditional khmer dance show every night at this place located on PUB STREET in central Siem Reap. The show starts at 8.30pm and lasts for an hour. You could just go in watch the show standing, the staff is so nice they will never bother you. But my advice is that you have at least a draft beer, it's US$0.75! Absolutely casual

This funky place had a great atmosphere with slides of the local people flashing on the walls. The comfy lounge spots make a perfect place to relax with a drink. This dark cavernous bar is good place to meet fellow travelers and listen to good hip hop and rock music. There is a pool table in the back but it was difficult to get a game. The graffittied bare concrete walls reminded me of a hip place usually found on the lower east side.

We found it a bit harrowing walking the streets of Phnom Penh by night.
