Packing List

Make sure you pack your baggage properly or it will fly off the truck. In this condition, we are actually sitting on everybody's baggage, so if you have anything fragile please carry them with you. Dust are extremely strong on the drive, so do something. Luckily it's not raining.

Backpack and smaller one for day trips. Cambodia is hot!hot!hot! I wore long sleeve shirts and light material pants to protect me from the sun. Hat, scarf (these are cheap and in plentiful supply here) Sunscreen, mosquito repellant, anti-itching cream for bug bites lots of film! I flew in from Bangkok to Siem Reap. I bought a 30 day visa at the Siem Reap airport for $25US. Don't forget to bring extra passport photos for your visa and for the Angkor pass.

Cambodia lies in a tropical zone between 10 and 14 degree of latitude north the equator. The temperature is fairly uniform throughout the year and averages 25 degree centigrade (77 degree fahrenheit).Be prepared for the humidity - bring light summer clothing and dress comfortably.

You don’t really need to bring every thing in your bag. In the Supermarkets you can find essential staff and there are very good markets all over the country: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, etc. where you can bay clouts, souvenirs and food.

Medium size backpack or medium size soft duffle bag about 5,000 cu. in.It is much easier to pack on a motorcycle than a hard suitcase.Day pack to carry valuables,camera,first-aid kit, water bottle, pair of long pants and guide books. Bring as little as possible.Anything made from thin coolmax material is probably the best for the hot humid temperatures in Cambodia.Any cheap, imitation (pirate) brand name clothing found throughout Southeast Asia also works well. The material is usually thinner,it is very cheap, affordable, comfortable and serves its' purposeBring a combination of long and short sleeve shirts or t-shirts as well as short and long pants.Laundry service is so cheap, you will never run out of clothes to wear.Wear a good, comfortable pair of walking shoes or hiking boot's for climbing up and down the very steep stairs of all the temples. You will be walking on hard rock most of the...

You could here write the usual long list about light cotton clothing, solid shoes/sandals, various medications, moskito repellants & sun lotions but you can, at least in Phnom Penh/Siam Reap, buy everything that you would ever need in large markets as well as in big well equipped supermarkets like Lucky Market or Big Market. The pharmacies are also well equipped, try the big one next to the trainstation. My best advise would be not to travel to heavy, as you are bound to shop some nice, and very cheap clothes/shoes here -try the Russian Market for that.I have no picture of my luggage or shopping wherefore above please find me riding a cyclo, being one of the taxi options here in town - normally the customer is in the front seat though....Picture taken at the '2000 cyclo pub crawl' - can't wait for the next one.

Cambodians transport everything by motobike (they don't have cars). Also your luggage is easily transported by motobike lift.
