Outside Phnom Penh you can visit small villages where traditional crafts like weaving are still carried out.
The workshop is usually underneath the houses and several ladies will work there together.
They are always willing to talk about their work while you watch them weave and then get down to negotiating to buy some of their beautiful materials. The artistry and craft is fantastic and almost whatever you pay will make it a bargain
I wanted to take a boat ride up the Mekong to visit an island where a lot of weaving is done. However due to the lack of tourists around the trip was canceled, so I arranged with my usual Motodup driver to go by motorcycle instead. It was a long dusty trip but you get to see the villages of real Cambodia.
The Mekong is the greatest river in South East Asia, here's a picture taken from the ferry to the island showing the river in the dry season.
