We wandered the market for about 2 hours and were amazed by the range of goods offered. The stall holders were pleasant, lots of Hallo's but not pushy.The gold and jewellery sections were just amazing and the posse of children we had collected were not allowed in there! We bought Krama and T-shirts for a couple of dollars each. The quality was good and they had European sizes. Barter but not too much. The prices are low anyway so why argue over a few pence.

Central Market (Phnom Penh): Haggle, haggle, haggle!!!

The Central Market is a prime shopping stop that should be a part to anyone's visit to Phnom Penh. There you will find a wide variety of merchandise, including local crafts and various imports (mostly from other Asian countries). Above all, however, you must not accept the first price offered. Again and again, we were able to negotiate the prices of our purchases below 50% of the initial "stated" price. And while it is possible that you think you are getting too good of a deal at the expense of someone else, think again. Local merchants will not sell their goods, unless they make a profit off the sale.

To go shopping, you may use some Riels

Herebye, a very uncommon 100 Riels bill. As far as I remember, worth about 2,3 ¢US... I doubt you will see a similar, the ladies that gave it back to me said she was a bit ashame to give me such small bill...

Gas Station: Buying Fuel for your Motorcycle

If you rent a motorcycle you will have to visit a gas station. Or you can buy the fuel from one of many roadside stands that you will see. The fuel is usually pre-bottled for you and you buy it by the liter.

The markets pretty much have most things that you could want from clothing to electrical goods to food and hammocks! Don't always pay what they ask for. These places are open to bargaining!!

Cambodia is similar to Thailand when it comes to shopping. Clothes, textiles, bags, etc are cheap and available in every places where it is tourists.

We invited our tour guide to walk us thru several shopping areas. We enjoyed her company, and she was able to explain alot of the local products.

Souvenirs: Inside Angkor go to.......Sophal shop!

Inside temples area there is the shop of this beautiful girl (in the picture). Sophal sell T-shirt, neck-lace, souvenirs, drinks. She is very nice and gentle.
