What to buy: Buy a lock if you want to impress your sweetheart with this tacky reminder of your Huangshan romance. You can get anything engraved on it but the engraver might not be able to translate foreign names. This might be an opportune time to get a Chinese name if you don't already have one. There will be some other tourist in line who is eager to be the scholar who comes to your rescue and volunteer to assist in this matter. Other tourists will also be happy to suggest where to put your lock and soon you and your entourage will be the next unusual attraction drawing a small crowd of Chinese people wearing yellow tour group hats.
What to pay: Locks range in price from 20 RMB up to 100 RMB. The engraving is complimentary.
