You get jolted at around 5:00 am to get out of the hotel and catch the birght red sunrise creeping out amongst the clouds and mountains.

The Tunxi ancient town contains several blocks of interesting shops selling herbal medicines, teas, and antiques. Can be seen in a few hours, and is worth a visit.

With the fog & rain, one can hardly see anything. That could be a blessing in disguise in that on a sunny day, one gets to see the bottom of the valley & that is one long way down!
