Huangshan is a great landscape experience, but be ready for long and relatively steep hikes (unless you pay porters) on well prepared concrete paths. Two days can be enough (I went up in the morning of one day and went back down in the afternoon of the next), but there is probably enough to fill at least a couple more days if you want to explore all the peaks and get higher chances to see the sun at dawn, we weren't that lucky and also got some heavy rain in the first day). In the area there are also a couple of old villages (Xidi and Hongcun) which are worth the visit (another half day), a wonderful bonsai garden, a village with seven arches, given to the same family over the centuries and an interesting factory specialised in china ink and inkstones.

Address: Huang Shan area
Xi Di, together with Hong Cun, are villages on UNESCO World Heritage List, both have some relatively well preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty residential archtectures, the famous Hui style one with 'horse-head' wall. The typical characteristics are the exquisite brick carving, wood carving and stone carving details.
Please see photos/details in my Xidi page.
