South Beauty has become a bit of an institution in Beijing in the last few years. For many, it is THE restaurant for taking business clients or for important celebrations.
Started as just one restaurant and now up to eleven restaurants (and three more in Shanghai), this is one of the big-hitters on the Beijing restaurant scene.
It (they) manage to blend the Eastern requirement for large open, busy spaces filled with happy eaters and the Western desire for subdued lighting and a bit of cosiness.
The restaurants are very, very busy and getting a table at short notice can ivolve a very long wait: forget it if you are more than a group of four.
The menu is huge, and the waiting staff are very helpful in advising on what dishes go best with the others.
Favorite Dish: No specific favourite. I like pretty much all Sichuan food.

They have many branches around Beijing city. It claims to serve the modernised Szechuan food. Most branches serve very high quality dishes though some still need improvement. My personal preference are the World Trade Center and Pacific Century branches.
