In the wonderful complex of the Summer Palace, we may see a 730 meters long corridor, that someone told me it is in the Guinness Book of Records as the longest in the world.
I don't know if that is correct, but I know that it is that long, and carefully painted in detail. Scene after scene, you walk along it like in a museum, and may "read" a sort of comic book revealing many aspects of the royal and Chinese life, registered in about 14000 pictures.
A very beautiful detail of the complex!

At the western end of Changlang is the Marble Boat, actually neither a boat (it's a pier) nor made of marble (stone). It's another infamous example of late Qing excess - Cixi diverted much needed funds for the navy to build it (oh, the irony!).
A short walk from the Marble Boat is West Gate, where you can exit the Palace grounds (via the usual souvenir shops of course).

Running east-west along the northern shore of Kunming Lake is the 900-metre covered Long Gallery (or Changlang), decorated with intricate paintings, now partly faded away.
