    Hu Tong is the branch of Chinese old street, it's long and strait, old Beijing people still living in Si He Yuan.

    Rent a bike for the day. Cycle around the city to the Bell- and Drumtowers, hutongs and Lama Temple. In Beijing biking is not as frightening as it looks like..

    Old Hutong in Beijing

    Hutong s are back alleys where old traditions remain very much alive and kicking. There are about 4,550 of them in Beijing, ubiquitous in these hutongs are quadrangle dwellings.

    Lao She was a famous Chinese writer. He wrote both in English and Chinese. He used to live in this little traditional courtyard in Beijing.
