The pier is behind Beijing Exhibition Hall ( see the pic from Google Earth ). The ticket is 70 yuan ( one way trip and entry to Summer Palace). The first trip is at 10am.
In the summer palace, the longest corridor would be a great place to relax and to take some pictures. Observe also the distinct paintings on the corridor.
It was called the long Corridor because it was long. There's over 700m of corridor, filled with mythical paintings and scenes.
A huge place.
We walked for several hours but only manged to cover a teeny weeny bit.
It'a lovely and lake was frozen when we were there during winter, so we managed to walk on the frozen lake!
Located on the north bank of Kunming Lake
Long Gallery stretches 728 meters and contains about 8000 colorful paintings
The summer palace is beautiful. With many interesting buildings and a huge man made lake.
Very nice way to spend an afternoon.
We spent a very refreshing day at the Summer Palace outside of the centre of Beijing. There is a lake where you cannot swim but you can rent a boat. Also it's nice just to walk around.
Do you like irony?! Empress Dowager Ci Xi syphoned funds destined for the Imperial Navy to build her boat of marble.
Walking through the Parks of the Palace.
A joye for the eye of a camera - and so different - depending on the weather and season !
Lotus is a symbol of longevity I believe - this picture captures the classic essence of imperial architecture, a timeless adaptation of man's building skills harnessing nature.
This palace is nice, specially at spring.
But what i liked there the most was the paints on the rafters. So walk the head up (just be careful ...)
The Summer Palace (In winter!)
Observe the way of the crouching tiger, sitting on water technique. It takes years of devotred practice!!
Here's one last look at the SUMMER PALACE's frozen KUNMING LAKE - the summer home of the Imperial family, here in winter.
In The Summer Palace, artificial lake, ship and bridge are beautifully arranged in the large site and all of which directed coolness.
