    Summer Palace

This is another shot from the inner Summer Palace.

I definitely loved this small corner of the palace. There is the Emperor's bedroom in the building left of the pic.

The walk up to the highest viewing point is well worth it, even though there are a lot of steps!

The gardens at the Summer Palace were among the best that I saw in China. Absolutely beautiful, especially when combined with the architecture and the lake.

Located in the lake at the Summer Palace this boat is made of marble and not surprising it can't float . It represented power.

We took a very long walk along the long corridor. Here, you should observe the paintings on the ceiling. I guess there are no repeated picture and every scene tells a different story.

In the summer palace, the longest corridor would be a great place to relax and to take some pictures. Observe also the distinct paintings on the corridor.

It was called the long Corridor because it was long. There's over 700m of corridor, filled with mythical paintings and scenes.

The Marble Boat in the Summer Palace area

We spent a very refreshing day at the Summer Palace outside of the centre of Beijing. There is a lake where you cannot swim but you can rent a boat. Also it's nice just to walk around.

Marble Boat of the Summer Palace

Do you like irony?! Empress Dowager Ci Xi syphoned funds destined for the Imperial Navy to build her boat of marble.
