    Summer palace tranquility

Lotus is a symbol of longevity I believe - this picture captures the classic essence of imperial architecture, a timeless adaptation of man's building skills harnessing nature.

The gardens at the Summer Palace were among the best that I saw in China. Absolutely beautiful, especially when combined with the architecture and the lake.

We took a very long walk along the long corridor. Here, you should observe the paintings on the ceiling. I guess there are no repeated picture and every scene tells a different story.

We walked for several hours but only manged to cover a teeny weeny bit.

It'a lovely and lake was frozen when we were there during winter, so we managed to walk on the frozen lake!

The lake is the central motif of Summer palace, and the lilacs give life and expression to it.

If you're a photo maniac be prepared to spend a reasonable time around them. You won't regret!

In the summer palace, the longest corridor would be a great place to relax and to take some pictures. Observe also the distinct paintings on the corridor.

This palace is nice, specially at spring.
But what i liked there the most was the paints on the rafters. So walk the head up (just be careful ...)

It was called the long Corridor because it was long. There's over 700m of corridor, filled with mythical paintings and scenes.

This is another shot from the inner Summer Palace.

I definitely loved this small corner of the palace. There is the Emperor's bedroom in the building left of the pic.
