I read in a guide that there is an underground city that Mao had built in the 60s furing the Sino-Soviet dispute. It had an Hospital and even a call from the headquarters to the mountains. We look for the most popular entry in a neighborhood tricky, but it was closed. A pity! It seems to me that the city is renewing his face, trying to hide anything that is not so beautiful to see ...

There are a lot of electronic translator in forbidden city. If you got it from outside the main gate. It costs RMB40. Get it inside, cost RMB10. The worst part is, the more expensive one doesn't mean a better one. Atleast in my case it doesn't.
I took a Japanese translator, it turned to English after 10 minutes and stop talking after 20 minutes. And this thing is made in Japan. Ridiculuos!!!
Unique Suggestions: 1.Check the translator carefully.
2.They will asked you to deposit your passport. Don't deposit your passport. Instead give them your hotel room key with some extra money as deposit.
Fun Alternatives: Bring a book.

For some time now massage parlours around the world has become synonymous with prostitution. The numerous massage parlours strewn around the city have a visible sign which is a revolving coloured pillar at the front window.
Unique Suggestions: After a leg breaking tour of the Great Wall, I thought lemme try one, thinking that probably China would be different in this regard being so in so many respects. Now this turned out to be sex parlour instead and I had to push off soon after the massage went on to a different level with sounds like maaney maaney.
Fun Alternatives: I am not sure if there is any safe alternative after a leg breaking journey in the city or the Wall.. But the closest you can be to actual massage would be some o the big hotels, in case you are staying there.

These facilities are there, BUT there is no milk or creamer provided.
Also, many hotels only provide chinese tea bags.

I guess criminality is (still) unknown in Beijing.
It was strange to me that pedestrians have no rights on the streets. Cars and bikes never give precedence to a pedestrian!
