I want to hire a car!
ntm2322 profile photo

Hiring a car in Beijing (or anywhere in China) is not that easy. If you can get a Chinese-issued driving license, then you can hire one and drive by yourself. If you can’t get that license, then you can rent a car but it will include a driver.

The good news is that some recent legislation enables now you, the foreigner (the lao3 wai4), to get a temporary license valid for 3 months. Just take advantage of this benefit, my friend.

For more information about this and about hiring a car, you can visit the follow website.

What is more reassuring than renting a car from a world-class brand that you are so familiar with?

Our Beijing business operations is properly licensed, fully-compliant with local laws, and accredited by Beijing Transport Bureau. Our cars are adequately insured and very well maintained. Very new fleet (acquired in mid to end 2009. Models include: Merc Benz R300L, S300L, Audi A6L, Volkswagen Passat, Chevrolet Epica, Toyota Camry, Buick Regal, Buick Excelle, Buick GL8, MB100, etc) and we have a team of well trained and tested chauffeurs.

In recognition of our quality service and excellence in management, we received a prestigious "Best Enterprise in Management & Service in 2009" award from Beijing Commission of Transportation on March 30, 2010.

Other than chauffeur-drive, you may also choose to do self-drive. GPS navigation devices are available for rental.

Airport transfer, daily rental, out-station rental (eg. to Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, etc), and long-term leasing are also available. Same for car rental services in and around Shanghai.

Getting to Mutianyu Great Wall
hydronetta profile photo

2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

hydronetta 903 reviews

According to LP guidebook it seemed a very complicated thing getting by public transport to Mutianyu Great Wall. Neverthless we decided to give it a chance. We got by taxi to Dong Zhi Men coach station in order to find out how. There a local guy called Mr Liang, holding a sign promoting his shuttle service to Great wall stopped us. I was about to ignore him but luckily my travelmate started negotiating the price. I can't recall the price (not too expensive) but thank god we did it. Not only we travelled there in our own pace but also by the time Mutianyu Wall opened to visitors. So we were able to wander around in almost complete serenity.
You will find him towards the Dong Zhi Men coach station in Beijing. His destinations are to any part of great wall and his moni van can host up to 20 persons

Car rental for visit of Chuandixia village featuring Ming Dynasty (1368-1683) building at Mentougou district

When visit Chuadixia Village at Mentougou, you can do more than that. Along the national road of 109, you can visit the following spots.

For more photo please visit www.carrentalsbeijing.com

Chuandixia Village

Though the village has become well know among tourists recently, it has existed silently for more than 400 years. Now there are more than 500 Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) courtyards. It is one of the best reserved ancient village with group of ancient constructions featuring Ming design and reflecting the social classification of that period of time. Some of the courtyards are empty with no people living inside. Therefore it will be locked again after your visit.

However, there are, apart from Chandixia Village, many other ancient villages, such as Yang Jia Yu Village, Sang Yu Village, and Ling Sui Village.

The only difference is that these other villages are not known to the outside world.

After the village, you can visit the Donghuling Han Dynasty (BC206-AD220) Tomb group. There is an exhibition hall there.

Miaofeng mountain

The mountain is famous for its roses and cherry flowers, ancient temples

Huang Chao Liang Great Wall

It is well reserved Great Wall in Mentougou District, therefore it is still wild great wall.

Stop on the road to Chengde

Zheng Winter (his nick name, he was born in the middle of a cold winter) owns a brand new car and took us on an excursion to Chengde. He speaks good english, is a tour guide with certificate and knows his way around. We had a lovely - very long - day trip (the express way was said to be open and looked finished, but part of it wasn't open, so we had to drive for about two hours on local roads). If you're seaking a reliable guide : this can be your man. Call hem at 8613911878644 or winterzheng1978@yahoo.com

rental car and guided tours in Beijing

I have stayed in Jiu Hua Spa&Resort near Beijing (with my family) for 6 days. I used the services of Robinson Li tours for travelling at major Beijing sites. As related to other chinese people (who should knew english as lomg they work in tourism) the english spoken by his team is excellent. Thery can solve also all kind of accommodation problems helping you as translator. The program is flexible, so we have made a very good choice. The price of 88-1000RMB per day is the best one as related to his flexible program and additional services. It is true, I could find a taxi driver with less money, ...but I wonder whether they help you all problems which could appear at check-in and check-out at hotel.

transfer from Xingang Port to Beijing city

Our cruiser stopped at Xingang port (in Tianjin city), it's a long distance from Beijing city.
we booked a car through hotelguidechina.com, $160 from the port to Beijing, much better price than the cruiser offer.

some one took train from Tianjin to Beijing, but the train station is not close by the port, so we think book a car transfer is a better way to get Beijing.

good luck.
