Stone carver at work

Near the panda zoo is the stone market that sells amazing carvings from Shoshan stone, which is only found in Fujian province. It is a stone that comes in many colors with marble-like streaks. The carvings are very intricate. I bought chops for my husband and son there and we got to watch the carver at work.

Fuzhou, is the largest city in Fujian Province. It is also the provincial capital. There are not many 'must see' places here, in my opinion. West Lake Park is the main city park for Fuzhou.
