The street/alley that is behind the Lakeside Hotel has a great open air market where there is a little of everything for sale. Be sure to have a calculator with you to bargain-I never paid more than half what they were asking.
What to buy: I bought kids clothes and shoes. If I hadn't been loaded with the baby and diaper bag, I would have tried on some of the adult clothes and shoes, too. It looked like great deals on all of the stuff.
What to pay: $2-3 for a pair of shoes (kids), $5 for 2 piece outfits for kids.

A: Sleeper bus departures at 0820 and 1020 daily from Fuzhou North long-distance bus station, fare 350 RMB.

Fuzhou, is the largest city in Fujian Province. It is also the provincial capital. There are not many 'must see' places here, in my opinion. West Lake Park is the main city park for Fuzhou.
