Changting/Tingzhou was of importance during the civil war. Chairman Mao lived there and made decisions about political strategies and different actions.
There a little museum for thoses who are interested in the history of the Chinese Communist Party. In the same buildings you find the Hakka museum where you can have some outlines of this culture.
