You can take train to Nanchang. It spends aboout 7 to 10 hours accroding to which one you take.
Another choice is long distance bus. But it is nor so comfortable as train. You can buy a sleeping berth on train, which is much better that on bus.

After intensive building up in recent years,transportation in Fujian is not yet a nightmare.Major cities like Fuzhou,Xiamen,Quanzhou,Zhangzhou,Longyan,are connected by highways.In my experience,travelling in high ways in Fujian is not only a convenient transportation,but also a marvelous sightseeing experience,especially along the mountainous highway between Zhangzhou and Longyan.
