Behind the Nanputuo Si are various paths leading up the slopes of Wulao Shan. These paths can be steep at points but they lead up through several interesting rock formations and alters. You can also get some great views back over the city. The picture here is of one shrine that had thousands of Buhda statues in a cave.

Jimei School Village was created in 1993 with the funds of Tan Kah Kee. Tan was an oversees chinese who made his fortune in Singapore and then returned Xiamen. He funded several universities and a large high school at Jimei school village.
This picture was taken from the Ao Park in Jimei where Tan's tomb is. This area had a series of stone engravings and statues which represent stories of China's history and legends.
For more pictures of the park take a look at my travelogue.

This is the summit of Gulangyu Island, made up of huge granite slabs but with a walking path and handrails. The elevation is about 100 meters so it's a relatively easy walk. The views on top are superb. You can view the Xiamen skyling to the west and the Quemoy (Jinmen) island to the east, occupied by the Taiwanese. The sea between Xiamen (Amoy) and Quemoy had seen much artillary shelling during the cold war.

Tea, as one of China's specialties, is the most popular beverage for Chinese people. There is even a system for appreciating tea which includes tea drinking (tea types and water heat), teapot art and tea house culture. According to historical data, China began to grow tea about two thousand years ago during the Warring States period (403-221 B.C.). Tea was known in the Han dynasty but only became popular in the Tang Dynasty. At this time, tea pot production was an art and tea drinking a ceremony. Tea falls into five major kinds: Black tea, Jasmine tea, Wulong tea, Green tea and Brick tea.Tea has been one of the daily necessities in China since time immemorial. In summer or warm climate, tea seems to dispel the heat and bring on instant cool together with a feeling of relaxation. For this reason, tea-houses abound in towns and market villages in South China and provide elderly retirees with the locales to meet and chat over a cup of tea. Enjoying the procedure of making tea and taste the famous Gongfu tea here. (Gongfu tea is the most popular beverage in south Fujian, China)
