Favorite thing: Air pollution level is high so if you are suffering from breathing trouble, take utmost care. Though the city is like any other big city, beautiful, good transportation, supermarkets and of course road side noodles. Must taste?

Favorite thing: Its location. Lanzhou is okay but its good point is its surroundings. Hours away, are Buddhist caves, gorgeous natural scenery, Tibetans, and even the desert.
Fondest memory: Heading to Xiahe... one of the best places in the world!

Favorite thing: Being the Capital of the Ganzu Province, it lies on the mother river of the nation, the Yellow River. It is really an old city aged over one thousand years.
Fondest memory: An archaeological site locates at about 50km from the city centre is a must see site where you can find some of the largest statues of Buddha in China.

Favorite thing: A local Muslim store selling ermm...I don't know, anyway it attracts me. There are about 5 to 10 % of Muslims stores and restaurants in Lanzhou city.
If you are looking for big modern shopping malls, take No.38 bus to Nanguan junction. A book shop of 6 storeys and a few gigantic stores and big squares.

Favorite thing: For the people live in the big cities with big noise, you will be interested in everything of Gansu Province, so don't waste any minute when you are in Gansu.
Fondest memory: The people of Gansu are warmhearted and pure.

Favorite thing: you must Dunhuang Mogao Grottos, you will watch many wonderful mural which were paited in Tang Dynesty.
you must go to Dunhuang Desert,it is Chinese Sahara.
You must go to see Yellow River, it is the place of Origin of Chinses culture
Fondest memory: Walk on the Dunhuang Desert, see the sun rising in the morning in the desert.

Favorite thing: Like other places in China, I enjoyed viewing the various historical art & craft items in Lanzhou. Basically, the silk road is about history, art, culture, scenery etc.
