After our group was finished the mountained was covered with these little colored papers. They have small pictures of a horse on them, and several prayers.
What is the meaning of the horse?
In Tibet prayerflags are also called Windhorse because both the wind and the horse are natural vehicles of movement, the horse carrying material form and the wind ethereal form.
(This Amdo area was a part of the former greater Tibet.)

At the top of the mountainpass in Amdo you will find prayerflags. It is a custom to throw paper offerings off the mountain at this spot. The lofferings are small square papers colored in the colors of the buddhism: white, blue, red, yellow and green.
It is supposed to bring good luck.
