You're probably wondering how this Thai temple got transplanted on a remote hill outside of Chaozhou, China.
Chaozhou is the ancestral home of many overseas Chinese who live in southeast Asia, especially Thailand and Singapore.
Many of them became successful entrepreneurs in their new land and this park's owner is one such fellow from Bangkok. He built the Palace of Thailand amusement park in order to give Chaozhou people a glimpse of Thai culture. What they see is a Buddhist temple, a big Buddha, a huge elephant, and some rides to give the school groups something to do instead of practicing Muay Thai kickboxing on each other.
Unique Suggestions: The Palace of Thailand should not be part of your itinerary unless you are part of an Overseas Chinese package tour or you've never been to Thailand and need one of those fancy Thai style buildings in your international photo background portfolio.
