I would definately recommend everyone on visit to Guangzhou, must visit a beach site "Damesha Resort" at night, though splendid in day time too, but it worth visiting after sunset. Locals and tourists flock here to enjoy the beach and this place has got good facilities there and amenties nearby.

Dress Code: Wear anything that must not offend local people and does not violate the rules.

Floor manager Tony. Gentle, sweet guy.

Kama Club - Club for the Poor & Insecure in Guangzhou.

Kama Club 金色年华 is a club in Guangzhou. This club is for people who do not have money and who are not comfortable at good clubs like Duo, Catwalk, Hai Hai, or CD.

People who can't talk to a woman in real life and don't feel confident in popular clubs in GZ, you can go there.

The music is very loud so you don't have to talk much, it is very dark, and you can pay one of the prostitutes there to drink with you.

Before I say the owner is Tony. He is not the owner, just a floor manager. And he is not Communist Party Member.

He was regular police officer before.

Get experience and confidence and then you can go to a real club and feel better about yourself.

Dress Code: They let anyone in who want it.

    Riverside: Pearl River Promenade

by soundchaseruk Written Oct 13, 2012

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The warm autumn evenings near the Pearl river are a really good time to watch people. I found it very safe and saw many people roller skating (these can be rented) and serious cyclists.

I did not feel threatened or unsafe being here and it felt like London at night. Patients from the local hospital stroll along the river front or are pushed in their night clothes in wheelchairs. Portrait artists ply their trade and there are many other attractions to view, especially the beautifully lit bridges.

  • catwalk: warning to all nightlife tourists caution

by zackdantre Updated Aug 10, 2012

If you want to be drugged, robbed & raped - Catwalk is the spot for you. I had something put in my drink and was very lucky to have not suffered a hideous fate. My Friend, on a different night there, was also drugged. We've met others with horror stories of stumbling out of the club, collapsing, and waking to find they'd been robbed. The employees at the club are themselves the druggers; once a targeted foreigner has consumed the roofy/horse tranquilizer, he/she is followed. You get taken to an atm or worse. I went back the next night to make management aware that their employees were drugging/robbing tourists, and they made it quite clear that they were aware of what goes down and had no intention of interfering. When i pushed the subject, i was physically forced out of the club in what must've been an entertaining scene to anybody observing.

There are plenty of cool clubs where only other "patrons" try to drug you, and you can avoid that sort of incident.
Going to one where the employees are doing the drugging is deeply dangerous.

    C:Union: Guitar music and beer

C:Union has a pretty cool bar tucked away in another one of them hard to reach places. This time behind the hotel (sorry, I forget which) at the street address of 115 Shuiyin Lu. I managed to arrive by taxi even though there was no visible street entrance. Veer left around the hotel building, and follow the path through to the back of the hotel. You will pass the outdoor drinking area and see some tennis courts in front of you. Just as your girlfriend is ready to murder you, the lights on your right hand side reveal a grungy, open-plan bar space with stage and with sombre red beer-light.

I made a visit to C:union on my first night in Guangzhou on the belief that it would be a good place to hear some rock music and it certainly delivered on that front, despite the price on the door (which was worth it for a gig). A little empty early on, but fills up later.

Good selection of beers and English/broken-Mandarin-friendly staff.

    Dress Code: There isn't one.

New Era - is one of the biggest clubs in Guangzhou. And the only club with a swimming pool. The furniture is in fascinating style, rather reminiscent of an antique gallery. On the first floor you heard Hip-Hop and R'n'B, in the basement is a modern electronic and pop music. For you also operate VIP-rooms on the second, third and fourth floors. And if you are tired of loud music in the club, take a break in our bar in the open air, invite you to spend an unforgettable time in the wild, stylish and wonderfully decorated New Era! New Era - is your new world of entertainment!

This restaurant has an American diner feel with the menu consisting of decent burgers, buffalo wings, Tex-Mex dishes, sandwiches, pizza etc plus some good deserts such as apple pie and ice cream. Beer is RMB12 for half a pint and RMB20 for a pint. The waitresses are very friendly and speak English. As well as the western food, they also offer many Chinese dishes. You can sit inside but they also have many tables outside in the park underneath trees.

    Pearl River: River Boat Cruises

    Welcome
    4 more images

Take the riverboat cruise on the Pearl River for a wonderful fun evening for everyone in the family. Very calming, stunning and beautiful. Or at the very least walk along the river to capture some of this fun. We did both, but the river is better at night with all of the fantastic lights. Also enjoyed our daily morning walks after dim sum, where you will find people doing Tai Chi, painting, or showing of their colorful birds, or fishing. You will also find people selling their wares, but I would advise caution here and to make sure you know your prices and quality of goods before making any purchases. Plenty of security on the walkways and you can also rent a bike to ride along the pathways, but it tends to be busy. My photos were taken in the dark and during a light shower.

The GuangZhou bar streets version of Woo Woo

The bar street of GuangZhou is maybe the most disapointing bar street i have ever seen. But still you just have to go there while in this city. It's a street of at least 500 meter, with a lot of buildings. But the problem is, most of the bars are closed.. Many are construction cites, and while we were there, only 3 bars/clubs were open and one outdoor restaurant.

The prices was shokingly high for the drinks. Good thing was that there were live music. The same kind of music you will find in Hong Kong, with a band of Phillipinos singing modern songs like Wycleaf Jean o.l. Good entertainment.

Funny thing about the street are the extremly beautiful girls that are there to get you to go in to the bars. They are not prostitutes.

Dress Code: No special dress code, as far as i know.

For the most up-to-date listings on all of Guangzhou's nightspots, pick up a copy of "that's PRD" magazine upon your arrival in Guangzhou (the PRD stands for Pearl River Delta). This English language publication includes extensive reviews of nightclubs, bars, restaurants and other activities available in Guangzhou, as well as articles, news about coming events and classified advertisements... You can get a free copy in various locations around the city, such as the Garden Hotel concierge desk, or the Cave Bar... The magazine also covers nearby Pearl River Delta cities of Dongguan and Shenzhen.

    Cave Bar: Cave Bar

by Guantanamera Updated Oct 5, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The Cave Bar is a nightclub and restaurant located near the Garden Hotel on Huanshi Donglu... They have reasonable approximations of Western favorites such as quesadillas and potato skins, though they don't quite match up to the authentic originals... Drinks are expensive here as the place caters mainly to expats... There's a latin music and salsa dancing party one night per week... They also have a foosball table and when I was there, I got into a fiercely competitive match with an incensed Russian gangster who played his heart out -- final score was Russian gangster 9, Guantanamera 10! Guantanamera wins by one point!!

True Colours and HeiHei are the worst clubs I have ever seen in my life!!!

I followed the first fellow's comment and visited Colours and Hei Hei which are not very far from each other. Both of them are just truly terrible place for tourists. Tourists are not welcome at all!!! Guards and attenders are so rude and not friendly. I just arrived from Shanghai today and it is kind of disappointing to see the "HUGE" difference between these two cities. Both clubs are just making money out of very young rich boys and they don't want compromise it by foreigners. So if you want a nightlife "STAY IN SHANGHAI PALS!!!!"
