When you enter the area of this island, you might wrongly think that you are in the early 1900s. If the Bund is the proof of foreign power in Shanghai, the Shamian would be the one in Guangzhou. Buildings here are in Westerner style, even though a lot of them are not well maintained yet you can still find it fascinating.
A lot of new wed couples choose to take their wedding photo here; also you can find the best bakery in town in White Swan Hotel; Subway recalls me of my college life, and Starbucks here would be one of the main reason that I revisit. Please take a simple amble if the weather is good, and you will love the atmosphere.
