The old wall was built during the early Ming Dynasty with more than 600 years of history. Unfortunately, most part of the wall has been demolished for built road after Sin Hai revolution in 1911. It is located Southwest of Yuexiu Park, also a great place to see the old trees.

Yuexiu Park is the largest park in downtown Guangzhou and, in fact, one of the largest municipal parks in China. Covering an area of 860,000 square meters (212.5 acres), the park is made up of three artificial lakes and seven hills of the Yuexiu Mountains; hence the name Yuexiu Park.

Yuexiu Park is a perfect combination of cultural relics and ecological tourism, reputed for its pretty water and hills as well as cultural relics. The main places of interest include the stone sculpture of the Five Rams, Zhenhai Tower (home of the Guangzhou City Museum), the site of the Ming Dynasty City Wall, and Square Cannon Site.

    Open: 6am-9pm. Admission: RMB5.

Yuexiu Park is a park demonstrating the history of Guangzhou. Why does Guangzhou is also called Goat City ? How does Guangzhou develop from a village? After you have been to the Yuexiu Park, you should be able to answer all these questions.
In the Yuexiu Park, you can find a statue with 5 goats. It is to commemorate the goat that come to Guangzhou and brought Guangzhou peace and wealth.
The entrace fee for the park is CNY 2 (Euro 0.2, US$ 0.26). Please go there in the day time. It is because there is almost no light in the park. You may watse money if you go there at night because you can see nothing.

Stone Tower, Yuexiu Park, Guangzhou, China

Yuexiu Park is the largest park in Guangzhou, nicely landscaped with artificial lakes and colourful flowers. You'll most likely enter from the south after a visit to the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall, and you'll be presented with a climb uphill around a maze of steps and paths. Don't worry, there are lots of signposts in the park and they are in English too. Once you get to the top of the hill you'll reach a strange stone tower, pictured. Also in the park you'll find Zhenhai Tower and the Sculpture of the Five Rams.

The Yuexiu park is somewhere in the middle of the city. It is large park with gardens as well as amusement park connected to it. A good to escape the crowded shopping streets
