A banyan tree planted about 380 years ago has created a home of 10,000 egrets that fly in and out everyday. This tree has inspired Mr. Bajin to write a poem "Birds' Paradise" after he visited this tree in 1933. Take the mini boat tour to observe the banyan tree which has expanded to 10 sq. km. for RMB6 per person.

Good luck if you try to find a similar restaurant in Xian (like we tried to).
This place combines dishes that one would normally find in Xian street vendors, but all under one roof.
(plus it's a lot less smoky!).
NB: It is a "local" Chinese Restaurant so the bathrooms don't have thrones (and are a bit stinky)
Favorite Dish: Chinese hamburgers :/)

Red Garlic. Its the place to go when you need a good fix of western food and don't want partake of the axis of evil (McDs/KFC/Pizza Hut). Plus, it's a lot better than what's on offer at the Yukka Hotel!
There's also draught beer and a good selection of well-priced wines. (draft beer for those from the U.S)
Red Garlic has free wifi, seating outside and they also deliver for free, which is handy.

There's a McDonald's across from Celeste Palace Hotel, adjacent to East Lake Park. It seems to be quite popular with the locals.
