The city of Kaiping have three different Chinese Dialect frequently used. There is Cantonese, the local Kaiping dialect and Mandarin. The locals can usually speak with all three while most workers in restaurants will speak only Mandarin. English is unknown to most people and only a few hotel staff may know.

There are a few hot springs in the neighboring district of Enping. I visited one and it was a great experience. You can take a taxi or hire a personal driver to any of those locations. I would advice negociating the price first and asking the driver to wait outside of the resort for the return trip. The price should be around $200-300rmb(around $20-40usd) for the ride but that is just an estimate.

Favorite thing: Walk around and feel the environment. Feel the silence, smell the grass, discover the fortress which tell you the story of the past.
