  • Warehouse by American Flour Company: Best & biggest pizza in Shenzhen, by the slice too

by ShenzhenPizza Written May 22, 2014

Warehouse serves fresh made New York style pizza by the slice or up to 30 inches, pasta, salads, beers. It might take a while at rush hours as they cook everything on the spot, but well worth it.
I've tried Warehouse pizza delivery too and at least for now they deliver almost anywhere in Shenzhen.

Favorite Dish: Classic Pepperoni pizza slice, 30rmb a slice and it's well enough for a meal. Chewy dough, imported cheese and pepperoni. Add a draft IPA and you're set.

    The Kitchen Futian

    by view.finder Updated Apr 25, 2013

Not quite as polished as the website would suggest, this restaurant can be found in the upmarket Coco Park area of Futian District, Shenzhen. I saw several rats scuttling about the decking outside in the area I sat on a sunny December lunchtime. Always interesting being the first customers of the day as you get an insight into how places are really run. The impressive menu at The Kitchen would make any expat mouth water. I thought I'd already seen something I'd wanted via '.pdf' days in advance however opting for a Vegetable Curry with rice was an excellent choice and a different kind of flavour on my now (somewhat reluctant) Chinese palate.

Funky modern design, inside and out. If anything, it's quite a darkly lit place and saw little atmosphere during the early lunchtime period. Would like to visit again next time I'm in town.

The Kitchen Bantian, Shop S207 block 29, Phase 2 Wanke; Cnr Banxuegang Ave & Jiaxian Road
Bantian, Longgang, Shenzhen, Guangdong , CN, Call: 8958-3637

Favorite Dish: A Vegetable Indian Curry at RMB75 was good value for money
My partner's Parmesan Chicken, 85RMB rated 6 1/2 - 7 out of 10 which is pretty good for China - bacon slightly too crispy and cheese a little too baked but well cooked meat and good partions here.

    Regular Coffee at RMB20
& glass of Sendero Cabernet Sauvignon RMB40 made for a very pleasant lunch

Tairyo Teppenyaki: Fresh food Prepared Tableside!

    by tetonski1 Written Mar 17, 2012

This wonderful "Benihana" like restaurant is located next to the Sheraton in Shenzhen so it is convenient to get to. It had a full crowd on a Thursday night, but still room for seating with no wait. We were brought to the second level which looks over the first. The restaurant has many large square grill tables that 7 + people sit around in private room,s or the main room, and watch the chef prepare their meals.

We went with the prix fix menu that had as much as you wanted to eat with beer & wine for around RMB $150 / 25$ US dollars. The food and sauces were delicious and it was a great time with friends.

Favorite Dish: Garlic Beef & Noodles. My friends really liked the prawns and other seafood they offered.

Great food, Great Time with Friends! Enjoying Tairyo Good Food, Great Time With Friends!

Wiwaso Restaurant & Bar: Bangers & Mash?

    by view.finder Written Jan 1, 2012

Something similar to the Paulaner chain of restaurants, a sausage/beer themed European eatery that caters to hearty lunch or dinner menus. One of the nicest spots to sit and dine at the Dameisha beach resort, the restaurant can be found within the Dameisha outlets lake park.

The inside of the restaurant is actually very small and quite dark. There is an outdoor terrace by the waterside that wraps around the walls of the building and is a nice place to sit and enjoy some privacy. The menu is small but very good sounding. When it comes to the bar there is an extensive list of beers and an extensive Edelweiss section. Teas and coffees available to.

Anywhere with a free bread basket gets my recommendation in China, where decent bread can be hard to come buy. The combination of brown and white bread, pretzel and raisin and walnut was just ride after the six hour train ride, beach walk and hotel check-in. Lunchtime seemed a quiet period and a good chance to test out the surroundings and still have the day to explore Dameisha or head back into the city.

Favorite Dish: I ordered the half a chicken with roast potatoes an it was lip-smackingly good. So it should have been for three figures
My partner ordered a sausage and mash combination but a little disappointed that she didn't have what I had.

Modern Toilet Restaurant: Dine whilst sitting on the throne

    by view.finder Updated Jan 1, 2012

You may notice the photographs for this review are a little better than usual. Borrowing a better camera with which to take these unusual pictures was definitely justified. This is no ordinary restaurant. Oh no. This is a trendy (debatable) Taiwanese chain of restaurants beginning to appear down south (no puns intended) within China and Hong Kong decked out with toilet-themed seats, menus and fittings. The toilets in question come in both Western and Eastern varieties so you needn't feel left out if you favour a squatter over the fore-mentioned throne. Watch this space, you could yet be seeing them scattered all over your city and I think one in London would be oh so fun also.

Something about spending Boxing Day on the toilet just felt right.
Cheapish food at one of the busiest streets in town so not much to complain about. Friendly, playful staff (one put a turd-shaped cushion on my head so that my partner could take a photograph) and clean, newly furnished interior. There are two floors to this restaurant - a second floor with windows out onto busy Dongmen Commercial Street and a third floor larger dining space without windows. Better restaurants around but a novel and different, comical dining experience.
Bring in a camera for copious picture opportunities to brighten up your 'facespace' or whatever ...
It all left me thinking, what were the toilets like?

Favorite Dish: Udon noodles with fried pork steak or the pork with rice and vegetables were both good and proportionally inexpensive for the district.
Icecreams, smoothies and shakes also available.

Jiefang Lu Toilet humour Humourus menu Pleasant interior (subjective) I didn't order this?!

Mao Jia Fan Dian (the Mao's Kitchen): Hunanese Restaurant

by THLIN Updated Apr 4, 2011

When it comes to Hunan, the most famous Hunanese in the world is Chairman Mao, who led the revolution of China; but when it comes to famous Chinese cuisine, Hunanese is one of the best among all. Famous for its spicy style, Hunanese food can be very very spicy. Most of the time, you see more chillis than any other ingredient in your plates.
Mao's Kitchen, namely, is in the name of Chairman Mao. There you can see a lot of Mao's pictures hanging on the wall. All of the private room is named after a place in Hunan; mine was An-yuan 1898. I suppoed that this should be where Chairman Mao was while he was alive. The food is quite authentic, in other word, very spicy. Service is not awesome, but in a remote industrial town of Shenzhen, this is considered good already.
This place is good for both private meeting or business meeting.

Favorite Dish: I like their sweetened lotus root stuffed with glutinous rice. It is not main dish, but somehow, it's my fave. Their fried spicy pork liver is also very nice, but due to high cholesterol reason, I don't really eat a lot. The braised fat pork is good, for the same reason, I could not eat too much.

Sorry, I was busy preparing wine and looking for others, I didn't take any pics after the dinner started.

jin hai ge su si guan: cheap & delicious vegetarian meals

    by zephyrgurl108 Updated Apr 4, 2011

i can eat in this restaurant everyday. the dishes are mock meat dishes, and mostly chinese buddhist vegetarian. many are spicy but all are tasy and satisfying. what's best, at 28rmb per dish (at least from the picture menu), it certainly beats my other western resto options. for non-chinese speakers like me the picture menu is most helpful because the staff do not speak english. open from 9 am to 10pm.

Favorite Dish: the "shrimp balls" and sweet and sour "fish"

Excellent food with an excellent service. The first time we came there, everybody watched us, even the local kids came to gave us a hand. The next days we tried to order ourselves, but with the knowledge of our Chinese, that wasn't always easy.

The restaurant in the Xin Ming Zhu hotel in Shajin: An excellent service provides a good meal

    by Alain_Smeets Updated Apr 4, 2011

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

The service is perfect, if you take a sip of your tea or beer, they fill it up again. Is your plate a bit full with bones or other things, they bring another one.

    And the food is delicious.

The first time we (Europeans) entered we got giggles and smiles, later they were used to us, but ordering stays an special experience.

Xiangmihu Resort: Can't decide? Try this Restaurant area

by gaolei Updated Apr 14, 2009

Xiangmihu resort is an area that includes one hotel and about a dozen big restaurants covering many of the Chinese cuisines. The restaurants are all in one area next to a parking lot. Each one has a specialty such as Chongqing, Northeast, Northwest, BBQ, Mongolian, Hunan, Japanese and several more.

The most unusual one is the Mongolian. They have a couple dozen Yurts you can sit in and have dinner.

Favorite Dish: The first and largest restaurant has lamb Jiaozi, dumplings. This is the only place I have see them.

Entrance to the resort Lamb Jiaozi - Excellent The staff is inspected and inspired before meals. Yurt at the Mongolian restaurant Inside the yurt
