Zhongshan Restaurants

Zhongshan International Restaurant serves the best dim sum in town. The quality is great compared to american restaurants I've gone to for dim sum. I've tried the one in Fuhua hotel and it doesn't compare to this one quality wise. Its more expensive than all the other restaurants though but thats what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. Nothing special about the environment or surrounding. Just the normal dim sum restaurant setup.

Favorite Dish: My favorite dish is the XO turnip cake. Its very flavorful and a little spicy. I couldn't get enough of it that I had to order an extra dish just for myself. Make sure you order a plate of these and I promise you that you won't regret it.

Taverna offers genuine Greek and Italian dishes cooked by a very talented Greek chef. The dishes draw on local seafood resources used in traditional Greek dishes and very tasty pizzas amongst other treats. The lamb cutlets with lemon and oregano potatoes are my personal favourite. The decor is a soft blue with a definite European feel. There is truly an international feel with many people from different countries giving local people the chance to practise their English and experience international dining at affordable prices.

Favorite Dish: Lamb Cutlets with Oregano and lemon potatoes. A taste from home.

This is a normal western styled cafe shop. Most people just order drinks here while they're waiting in the lobby for their friends or something. I had to wait for a bus to go back to Guangzhou in 2 hrs so I was just chillin here for a couple hrs. I ordered the coffee and roasted pidgeon. Coffee was... well nothing to brag about but the pidgeon was delicious. If I haven't mentioned it yet, Zhongshan's known for its pidgeon dishes. If you get a chance, make sure you try them out. Another cool thing about this cafe is that to the side of it, Is the fish garden right outside the Fuhua Palace Chinese restaurant. Just take a look at the pics and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Favorite Dish: The roasted pidgeon was the best dish here... in fact its the best dish in Zhongshan. Its got a very nice crispy skin almost like roast duck but not as greasy. Its a must try if you ever get the chance.

This is the Fuhua chinese restaurant located on the 15th floor. Its your basic chinese restaurant where they serve dim sum in the morning/afternoon and chinese cuisines at night. The price here is pretty cheap compared to International's dim sum dishes. But the quality here was not as good as International's. But overall, it wasn't that bad and I didn't try that many dishes so maybe you'll enjoy it more than I did.

Favorite Dish: Best dish I had was probably the steamem buns. It wasn't your normal bland steam bun. It had some kind of texture that gave it extra flavor.
