Silver Cave - Introduction

A guide map at the entrance of Silver Cave

What I like about this cave is that it has a systematic crowd control system, many safety signs and also state-of-the-art lighting and sound system that really impressed me.

Around 40 tourists are admitted at a time and a guide is allocated. Your group will then be assigned a group number throughout the cave tour. This is good to avoid large crowd and also for the protection of cave ecological system. Too many tourists will spoil and vandalise the beauty of this cave. Carbon monoxide breathes out by humans will make the limestones lack lustre and become dull.

The guide will introduce to you the many features inside this Cave, namely the three uniqueness and the tree treaures of Silver Cave. At every point, the guide will use a card-like tag to tap on a power point to activate the colourful spotlights and sound system. The cave is now alive with vivid colours and your imagination will go wild. The lights will be off automatically after some time in order to save energy. Eventhough the lights look very artifical, they are tastefully decorated to complement and enliven the cave's natural wonders and have fascinated many tourists.

There are many well-lit signs for direction and safety strategically located on the wall of the cave or at your steps. Caution signs have readings like "Mind your head", "Mind your steps", "Slopes in front", "Slippery ground", "Do not tap", etc. Do not run inside the cave as the ground is slippery with water dripping from above and this will also disturb some fragile limestones.

Temperature in the cave remains constant between 24c to 26c. You need not bring extra clothings. If you would like to take photos inside the cave, you have to use films with light sensitivity of ISO 400 and above for a satisfactory shot. Or else, your photos will look very dark and gloomy.

Entrance Fee: RMB40

The imposing Sky Supporting Pillar

This sky-supporting pillar is so unique that at its trunk many branches extend out. What a scene of upright and twist combining together. One cannot but admire the nature's superlative craftsmanship !

Buddha Teaching Scripture

In the solemn hall of the Buddhist Temple, Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, is lecturing the profound doctrine, sitting around by his pious followers. It's said that this natural stone image of Sakyamuni is divine.

The reflections of Fairyland

Such scene could only be seen on heaven, nowhere can we find it on earth. The curtains of the Asgard are slowly opening for you, a magnificent view presents before you, inside time passes and dynasties change one after another. Is it a scene on the heaven or on the earth ? It can only be a fairyland !

Silver Cave - Musical Stone Screen

Musical Stone Screen

This is a musical stone screen consisting of many thin stone curtains and thin pieces of stalactites. Once you slightly pat on it, it will ring out pleasing rhyme as if from nowhere.

This place has been protected by some business-minded photographers. When they see crowds passing by, they will switch on all the colourful lights for a short while to attract you. Get ready your camera and shoot this natural wonder. If you would like to have your close-up photo taken professionally, enquire within. You will have the chance to stand close to this Musical Stone Screen. You will obtain your photo at the cave exit.

Vase collecting water from Snow Mountain Waterfall

The name of the cave, Silver Cave, is derived largely from the scenes of "Snow Mountain Waterfall". The surface of which glitter like crystals, diamonds or silver, hence named Silver Cave. You can see "white mountains" with silver tint shining, "silvery water" seemingly pouring down from the cliff, as if you were in a fairyland and you will forget time.
