After some days in China, the chance to eat western food was well accepted by all the members of the group.
We went to West street where, it seems, most places sell western food and drinks.
We were in a hurry to go see the cormorants fishing and ate... something like western food, with western drinks.
I don't remember the place nor the food, which means that, not being a memorable dinner it filled my expectations, but the choice in west street is really big.

Oil tea is a featured drink originated from another county next to Yangshuo, named "Gongcheng". Its strong grassy, salty gingery taste makes it disagreeable to most people at the first sip; but as you experience more, the distinguished fragrance and unique flavor make it more appreciable.
Linda and Xiaohei are both oiltea fan, especially after a hiking or cycling in a rather cold and damp weather, having a serving of oil tea would be the best way to recover. But it'd be better to serve with one or two local sticky rice cake named "Baba", because the alkline element in the tea might have harsh impact on your empty stomache.
The tea shop next to the hospital serves authentic and high quality oil tea. The friendly owner also sell simple stir-fry dishes and never over-charge. Their oil tea is purely handmade, and you may be lucky enough to catch their preparing, by mixing tea leaves, ginger and garlic all together in a stone mortar, during non-busy hour.
Favorite Dish: Oil Tea. The best old tea in Yangshuo.

Food :- We ordered Apple Pancake with Ice Cream and Banana Pancake with 2 Fruit Juices.
The Carrot was not chopped properly and was Blended behind the Bar.
The Apple Pancake had no taste. Only ate half of it.
The Serving Staff were not very friendly which was surprising as had heard this was a friendly chilled place.
Other Customers seemed nice - there were some Russians - Guess we must have appeared when the Waitress was feeling under the weather.
This Cafe did have free wireless internet which was a positive though.
We asked for the Bill yet the Waitress refused to come to the table and wanted us to pay in front of the bar - despite the fact she did not seem busy.
We received no thankyou or goodbye when we left - We did not return!!
We Were very dissapointed - so found a lovely Cafe nearby called the Mimosa and another nice Cafe called the Rosewood where the staff are more friendly and serve promptly.

Simply amazing! The Olive Garden is a new family restaurant which formerly was known as Riders Rest over looking the Dieters Nursery in Assagay. We went for a lunch last week and were pleasantly welcome with a beautiful rustic setting and surroundings. The food is all international Mediterranean dishes from Breakfasts, lunches, salads, platters, roasts, deserts, cocktails, tea and considerably prices and very well presented. I recommend sitting on the terrace overlooking and enjoying their stunning Bruchetta and a platter to share from Seafood to meat or even the Vegetarian option. A big thumbs up!
Favorite Dish: Bruchetta, Sunday Roast, Platters, Salads, Breakfasts & Vegetarian panckaes

They make thin-crust italian style pizza, and that's exactly how I like it, the beef steaks are tender and juicy and great value for money, they should work a little on their desserts, but then again, it's a bar in yangshuo, they do perfectly well, and they have loads of local and imported beers.
Favorite Dish: I love my steaks, and theirs are really good

There are cafes all over the place with the greatest concentration being around West street. The food is fresh, cheap, and genuinely local so expect some very different delicacies! One of the local favorites is Beer Fish which is usually locally caught catfish cooked in beer. Also good were the barbecue cafes where you just pick what you want from a huge array and they barbecue it and spice it for you. This was where we had the sparrows on sticks which were actually quite nice even chewing through all the bones, beak, etc. The local beer was also good, and cold. You could even get imported wine in some cafes at reasonable prices.
Favorite Dish: Roast Duck was our favorite but I was particularly taken with the snails.

Can't remember what this place is called but it's on the right hand side of the photo with "Espresso" sign. Came here both mornings that I was in Yangshuo for a great western cooked breakfast which consisted of orange juice, yoghurt, hash browns, eggs, toast, tomatoes, bacon and a coffee all for RMB28. Great stuff!

Came here on my final night in Yangshuo and had a great mixed grill of pork, steak, sausage etc and an equally superb freshly baked apple crumble. You have to wait a while for the crumble as it's that freshly cooked it takes some time to come but its well worth it in the end. Nice little place which is fairly cheap as well.
