I did not try this but there are many Rock Climbing clubs in Yanghuo, all along West Street you will find them. If you are a begginer then they will train you then take you out.....if you are a good climber then you will not have a problem to go to the mountains right away. I am also not sure of the cost for this.
Equipment: You can bring your own or use theirs...

The Bu Di Zhen Kung Fu school in Yangshuo has a fascinating history and is a must do activity if you are visiting for a short time or staying for an extended period. Located down the little alley way off West Street ( down the left side of 'Kiss bar'). The school is run by Master 'Papa' Gao who is now 79 years old and his twin sons George and Peter. The school is a perfect way for westerners to learn traditional chinese kung fu and tai chi - as both George and Peter speak excellent english, having taught martial arts all over the world. The school is open from around 7am - 9am and from 6pm to 7:30 pm daily. Classes cost 50 yuan per lesson with discounts available for monthly and yearly memberships.
Equipment: Comfortable clothing is all you need.

In this photo, Xiujuan poses on the rocky dirt road that follows much of the way alongside the Yulong He... Notice some of the sharp rocks jutting from the terrain, as well as the holes which tend to fill up with water after the rainfall... Your bike will get plenty dirty but you won't if your bike has good splash guards atop the wheels...!

Biking is one of the most relaxing and enjoyable ways to experience the marvelous scenery around Yangshuo... Bikes can easily be rented in Yangshuo town, usually for about 10 RMB per day, ranging up to 15 to 20 RMB per day during the high season... Make sure you get a rugged mountain bike, not just a road or city bike, because some of the paths you will be riding on are very rough and rocky... Also, take care riding through the heavy traffic in the center of Yangshuo town as it is typical Chinese style chaos...

If you take the tour on the Yulong River you can even swim in the river at some still areas of it. It is a great experience, swimming surrounded by those magnificient mountains.
