A word of warning to the weak like me. The beds in some of the hotels are very hard. We stayed in three and i nearly broke my back. I had to resort to putting three quilts under a sheet for cushioning. I am told hard beds are best for a warm climate.
Amazing though you get used to the beds after a while though :)

Although common across China, and in other countries, we have never been pestered as much as we have in Sanya.
Taxi drivers hoot their horns incessantly when you appear by the roadside, will actually block your crossing the road just in case you are retarded and need a taxi, but can't hear the horn or visually identify a taxi at 3 metres distance.
Hawkers constantly want you to buy coral, seashells and all manner of crap and trinkets. This becomes wearying in the extreme, especially when you find a peaceful part of the beach, sit down and relax in the sunshine, then have three vendors squat down within one metre of you, talk, shout and screech loudly and constantly offer you the same objects you politely declined two minutes previously.
The opportunity to relax on a deserted beach is spoilt, and it leaves a bad impression. Everyone we met complained about it.

As the driver drives kind of fast and the road is not so well paved, you will be shaking up and down all the way from your seat. the worst case is you would jump off from your seat when the car runs very fast.

This is a warning for guys only.
As soon as you enter the ethnic minority village( which has been turned into a tourist destination) called: Bin Lang Yuan, a couple of minority chicks will drag you to perform the triditional wedding with them. And after that, you will be asked to pay something like 100 RMB for the engagement fee. And there is more, the womon who holds the "wedding" will ask for 50RMB commission as well.
And tell you what, the chicks there are ugly enough.
