Favorite thing: Walking along the 'Zhongyang Dajie'. This is a pedestrian street where most of the preserved buildings of the period 1905 till 1930 are located. Each such building is marked by a plaque stating when it was build. The people of Harbin also walk this street as an outing.
Fondest memory: After 3 day's of chinese food for breakfast, lunch and diner, I was very glad to find a French Backery in the Zhongyang Dajie. The croissants where wonderfull and affordable (3 yuan), the cappucino also wonderfull and very expensive (20 yuan).

Favorite thing: The Song Hua river is one beautiful place to visit in all four seasons, during summer, people swim and play in the water and on beaches; in the winter, there are even more things to that people enjoy, they ice ski on the river surface and there are play grounds on the side too. there are shopping centers in the center city where all kind of sores lay on the side of the streets and there is one street in the center city where cars are not allowed to enter, people in all ages could take a nice relexing work on that particular street with out hearing any car or other transportation. there are also lot of fine restaurants; big ones, midium ones, and small ones, you can go into any of them and get the best services.
Fondest memory: i have been living there most of my life which is about 13 years, The fondest memory of harbin to me is every winter the speial ice show where people go with there loved ones and share the warm feeling with their loved once in the special cold winter.

Fondest memory: The Russian market is an interesting little shopping experience. If you can brave the cold weather - and I mean COLD weather - the ice lantern festival in January and February is worth checking out.
