Toiletries and Medical Supplies: If you stay in this area for a longer time and you have dry skin already, definitely bring a lot of moisturiser or any other stuff that makes your skin less dry. The area is really dry and I really had problems while I was here in March 2007.

Luggage and bags: Bring half-full suitcases to account for what you will by there.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfy shoes as you will walk a lot. Umbrella for summer or Autumn
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: The minimum, you can buy everything once there
Photo Equipment: With digital camera, you will be all equipped
Miscellaneous: In the winter, bring warm clothes, its not Shanghai !!
