As you travel by bus or train from Zhengzhou to Luoyang, you will see numerous holes cut into the side of the cliff faces. These are peoples homes. Some are just a hole, some use a cliff face as a wall or two of a regular house. It is a beautiful three dimensional living space. Little streams cut valleys toward the Yellow River to the north and every valley has homes and terraced fields at all sorts of different heights.
