Xinzheng Off The Beaten Path

Xinzheng is already off the beaten path. But rent a bike from any of the big bike rental people alongside the road (1 yuan for 2 hours!!!, sometimes less) and just go exploring the city on your own. There's not much to see to the naked eye, but it's real china at it's best (or worst). The villagers will all look at you funny, but for the most part it's very safe. This is a photo of a very ancient pagoda I happened to stumble across as I was biking. (bike in thee bottom right hand corner) ... totally abandoned, totally neglected, and totally AUTHENTIC...very difficult to find in china nowadays.
