    • Some guidebooks and maps show the airport to be close to the city and to the northeast.
    It isn't. It is some distance to the southeast, along the new highway.

    Allow at least one hour from the centre of Zhengzhou to get to the new airport.

    The airport is, by the way, very modern and very empty.

    Massively crowded railway station

    • This is the most crowded railway station I have ever used. The crowds were spilling across the plaza in front - and this was at 8pm!
    Zhengzhou is at the epicentre of the Chinese railway system, so many people change here.
    There is a 4-star hotel with a tiny bar-cum-coffee shop right next door to the main station entrance (to the right as you look at it). You can wait here, and we also rented three rooms for two hours....clean, comfortable and quiet!
