Stele in the Hall of Knowledge

Here is an example of the carvings in the hall. The top of the hall was used for the energy vortex. Medicines prepared by the hospital were placed in a box at the hill's crest to be charged with Qi.

Hall of Knowledge

The Hall of Knowledge is shaped to represent 8 dragons winding up the hill. It contains carved stone tablets (stele) each being part of man's history, religion, martial arts, medicine, space exploration and much more. They have applied for inclusion in the Guiness Book of Records.

Hummingbird Moth

Well this is not a danger but then I found none in Ezhou.

i had never before seen one of these moths. It would visit the same plotted plants every afternoon. I was so surprised to see it because it first looked and behaved like a hummingbird. Hummingbirds aren't in Asia. So I was really puzzled. On closer inspection it was a large moth. After getting home I found out that it was is called Hummingbird Moth. Apparently it is found throughout the U.S. also but I had to travel to China to discover one.

Fish Farmer

Up the road outside the back gate to Lianhuashan were farm houses, orchards and fish farms. I use to spend mid afternoon (while my translator took a break) walking around the area. It was lovely and peaceful.

I sometimes saw this farmer out tending his ponds. The lunch room at the hospital had great river fish. I wonder if he supplied it.
